Mission Statement:
The desire of the founder and CEO has for years been to establish an affordable, patient friendly medical laboratory facility. A facility that can serve Nigerians with services comparable with any such set up in any part of the world. Brief History: The CEO chose his home community Ikpoba Waterside in Ward 40A in Benin City, Edo State of Nigeria as the headquarter of the OPRI Medical Lab services. OPRI medical laboratory was established in April 1976 with the name MidWest Medical Laboratory Services, later Bendel Medical Laboratory Services that is when the name of the state was changed to Bendel. When the Delta State was separated from Bendel and the Edo and Delta states were formed, he changed the name of the company to his own initials. These are OPRI. It has since been known as OPRI Medical Laboratory Service this was later incorporated as OPRI Medical Lab. Services Ltd.As at 1976 the staff were OPRI Omigie and a registration clerk and a cleaner. When the volume of work increased, he hired a qualified medical laboratory scientist to work with him in the person of David Braimah Ojishua who was then in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. David's specialty was haematology and blood tranfusion. Omigie's specialty is medical microbiology. With the enterprising spirit of David Ojishua injected into the company, the work expanded to be able to hire two biochemists, two microbiologists, and three haematologists.The laboratories are now located in three states in Nigeria, namely Edo, Delta and Kogi StatesInsert body text here ...
